Welcome! You're among the first to visit LeatherLife.net. (This is a preliminary test version of the site, which means—congratulations!—you're a guinea pig.)

Why does this site exist? Well, for the last ten years Leather Life has been the leather column in Lavender Magazine, which is distributed at convenient distribution points in the Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minnesota area. For the last several years the current column also has been available at www.lavendermagazine.com.

Up to now, the life of any Leather Life column has been two weeks in print (while the current issue of Lavender is on the stands) and two weeks on lavendermagazine.com. And then it was gone, replaced by the next column. Up to now, the only place the columns have been archived has been on your humble columnist's hard drive and in his scrapbook.

That situation is about to change. LeatherLife.net is a new online community resource that will feature the Leather Life Library, an archive of past Leather Life columns and other writings. (New columns will continue to first appear in print and online exclusively at lavendermagazine.com - you can jump to the article directly by clicking on the Lavender logo in the upper right, or by bookmarking / linking to www.leatherlife.net/currentcolumn)

LeatherLife.net also will include Leather Lens galleries of previously unpublished leather photos. (Your humble columnist has taken a lot of leather photos over the years.) Depending on the state of this test site, you may be able to see photos of the 2005 International Mr. Leather contest weekend, 2005 Minnesota Leather Pride and 2005 International Ms Leather contest weekend—or you may not..

Other features planned for LeatherLife.net are audio files (either streaming or downloadable to your iPod), links, a blog and more. The plan is to constantly add more columns, photos and other features, so it should be worth checking the site frequently.
